This much we know. The Dallas RB Elliot is on the suspended list. The Steelers RB Bell is in a holdout, and not expected back until September. Another thing is that teams go with RB by committee nowadays. It used to be that picking a RB in the first round was a no brainer. What I am gonna do is break the RB crops into the premier list, and those worthy in  second or third round, and then those who you can wait on.

I was here in North Carolina when Charlotte was awarded a franchise known as the Panthers. What a feeling to go out and get your first Carolina NFL sweat shirt after years of being subjected to the Washington Redskins as the home team.

Back then, you could sign up to get the rights for what amounted to over 2,000 dollars per seat for a PSL (seat license). Being a big sports fan I considered the idea, but the price was outside of my comfort level.

The early days of Panthers football was lead on the field by head coach was Dom Capers.  He made the expansion franchise look pretty good for the first year. Kerry Collins from Penn State was the Panthers first franchise QB.

With any expansion franchise it comes down to the players and the team that come after the early years.  Well, they did put a team together well enough that under head coach John Fox they made a run at the Superbowl trophy. But, they came up short in the championship game.

Fast forward to 2016, and under head coach Riverboat Ron and a new General Manager they are playing for their first Superbowl championship this Sunday.

Mets put it all together in 2015

Even though the N.Y. Mets shocked the baseball world by going from lovable losers to World Champions in 1969, I was too young to have any first hand memories of that team .   I believe I became Mets fan around the age of about 6 or 7 due in part of family relatives recalling stories about the 1969 "Miracle Mets" team. Since we lived in Poughkeepsie N.Y. , I was able to watch all the Mets games on the local television  broadcasts.  Moreover, with the neighborhood kids we collected and traded baseball cards and who wouldn't like this, as a thin pink slice of bubble gum came with every pack. Even to this day, I still remember the Mets songs like "Meet the Mets" and songs from commercials like "Shaefer beer is one beer to have when you are having more than one". Right about time I became a big fan of Mets, the Mets team was going down hill. But, we didn't even care. Just loved baseball and the team. #LGM

The Cal Ripken World Series is home to the best 12-year-old baseball players in the world, representing the Cal Ripken Major/70 division of the Babe Ruth League. It's the culmination of a year-long journey known as the Road to Aberdeen.

Meet the team from Raleigh, who is  coached by Bryan Holjes, and  made it to the championship game:

The West Raleigh Big Blue are national champs and will go for the world title Saturday in the Cal Ripken World Series in Aberdeen, Md., just outside Baltimore.

July 2014 Baseball Tour

Its about a week away. After doing a short baseball tour last summer on the east coast, I am doing a full baseball tour of the mid west. I will be going to five MLB parks including Yankees at Cleveland, 2 games at Wrigley Field vs Braves,  the Cubs on road in Cincinnati, the Dodgers in Detroit,  and Cardinals at Milwaukee. 

Next, following these games the trip heads out to Minnesota for the All Star Game festivities.

Killer Hill Draft 2012

I am excited for football season. At this time last year we didn't even know if there would be a season. Tonight. The Killer Hill league started in 2009. Thus, this marks the fourth season of this league. All of which have been unsuccessful for me. I started a NFL list on twitter to keep up with all the news.
